Rijksmuseum

The largest and most famous museum in Amsterdam is the Rijksmuseum. The building itself is already a work of art. In any case, you will see Rembrandt’s masterpiece: The Night Watch. But also other masterpieces by, for example, Johannes Vermeer and Frans Hals. Several times a year, the Rijksmuseum presents major exhibitions and presentations.

Anne Frank Museum

During the Second World War, the Jewish Anne Frank and her family went into hiding for more than two years in the Secret Annex in Amsterdam. She kept a diary and wrote short stories about that period. The diary has now been translated into more than seventy languages. In the Anne Frank Museum, you will find the original diary. Apart from this, documents and objects belonging to Anne Frank and the other seven people in hiding are also on display. You will learn everything about her life, especially during the time of the Second World War.

There is often a long line at the entrance of the museum. If you order tickets in advance, you don’t have to wait in line.

NEMO Science Museum

NEMO Science Museum is for the young and old. You will be immersed in the world of science and technology. With exhibitions, experiments, demonstrations and workshops, you can experience how extraordinary everyday things are. Think of a light (bulb), washing machine and radio. Experience an educational and fun day with the family. You will find NEMO near Amsterdam Central Station.

Moco museum

To see modern art, you have to go to the Moco Museum on the Museumplein. Check out Banksy’s humorous and political ‘indoor artworks’ and Studio Irma’s interactive artworks. The owners of the museum have worked extensively with these great artists. This allows the museum to exhibit the most exceptional works.

FOAM photography museum

Do you love photography? Then FOAM is really the museum for you! FOAM organises exhibitions that showcase the work of world-famous photographers. In addition, exhibitions are organised by young talented photographers. There are three standard exhibitions, each with a different theme, such as fashion or history.
